How sad does an elephant get?
it's not something that we can just ask
and crows have funerals you know
but how soon does their grief pass?
do we all feel sadness the same?
like a hard cold ache in the chest
do we each one of us think
that we are sadder than all of the rest?
do we all fight to hold Back the tears?
can all of the animals cry?
do we all have silent fears
of seeing our loved ones die?
what reason is there for mourning?
to pine for someone who's dead
to wake up and miss them each morning
before even leaving the bed
a lot of the feelings we get
have a biological reason for why
when it rains your skin feels wet
but what is the reason we cry?
what is the reason for sadness?
I've pondered yet still find no clue
it could be considered as Madness
but it's something that all of us do
